Yesterday was my first time going to Chicago Flotation Tanks. Their website is here: http://chicagofloatationtanks.com/floatation.html. A dear friend of mine had asked me if I wanted to go. He described experiences of deep meditation, relaxation, auditory hallucinations(hearing knocking when that wasn't the case), and invigoration.

For those of you that know me I definitely have a deep fascination with sensory deprivation as well as overload. The tanks provide 10 inches of water and a light tight door. If you want to have a little light you can prop the door open easily with a towel. Though, me being curious and wanting the whole effect I kept the door sealed. You float nude and my only complaint is that the water felt cold at first. Once I settled into floating I started to warm up and felt a bit more comfortable.

Time passed very quickly. I was alone in pitch darkness with my own thoughts at first. It took some time to relax my neck fully and ease into the water. Once submerged, I couldn't even hear the hum of the white noise machine provided in the room. Ahhh! A sensory deprivation lover's dream! As I float a bit from side to side I could feel the boundaries of the tank. It took some getting used to just floating in the middle. I believe the effects of the float were much better once I concentrated on this. Slowly drifting off into a clear meditative space, I lost sight of the orientation of my body and the fact I was actually in water.

There were a few times I had auditory hallucinations-I kept hearing knocks that weren't happening. On one occasion I actually had to open the door to the tank because I honestly thought my time was up-hence the knocking. The red light to signal the end of my float was not on and I was relieved to have more time in the tank! It was very easy for me to drift back into my wonderland.

Once the knocking came I had a very hard time lifting my arms from the water to reach the door. I felt heavy but light at the same time. The warm shower afterwards was probably one of the best showers I've ever taken. I was so at peace with everything surrounding me...though I seemed to be moving in slow motion for the next half hour out of the tank. The sense of euphoria I felt lasted for hours after leaving the tanks. I will definitely do this again and recommend this experience to those that both enjoy sensory deprivation and the meditative states that can result!

It was My pleasure to host Domina Natalya Sadici at My Studio as Guest Mistress for September 2011. We haven't had a catch up in over a decade, and I was happy she accepted My invite for some fun and deviance! Since I don't get 'out of dungeon' much, I truly revel in the visits with My Guest Ladies and the party is on!

Our visit was wonderful and definately too short! I got to spoil her with some of My home cookin' and comforts, which I love to do besides being a Mistress/Mommie is to take care of My Guests!

She met My family (slaves and My youngin!--glad they all didn't drive her nuts...tee hee!) and My darling boys were at her beck and call to make her visit more enjoyable. After a loong day of video interviewing and fun shooting, we ordered from My fav local pizzeria (Brownies Pizza, Scranton. YUM!) and continued on into the eve with cocktails and shop talk. We also has some fun with some play piercing on each other. It is really wonderful to have an inspiring Lady in the house to bounce ideas off of, share play ideas and learn from. It is a lovely way to promote Sisterhood within our community.

A fun part: I did lend My slave one out for some fun. Natalya is wonderful with ropes (I'm not a rope fan, I'm an azz beater/verbal-psych player) and he truly enjoyed his treat. his lil' eyes were sparkled for days and his cute lil grin was adorable. slave georgie also got a taste of the the both of us for our video work for My clips for sale store. My newest member of the family, boy mikey got some trampling in too. Those vids are coming so stay tuned!

I also presented her with the Women of Discipline Studios logo patch to officially welcome her as a member of My studio. She is an amazing professional with confidence, character, and warmth. We had lotsa hugs and I grabbed a few smooches here and there..nuthin too fresh! ;)

It was an absolutely wonderful visit, and I look forward to her return. Chicago locals and visitors, I highly recommend her skill and knowledge, and see her for an extraordinary experience. You won't be disappointed. (I learned more about rope, watch out!)

...and here's my review of my visit:

Upon my arrival to Scranton, PA the passion and love for FemDom was palpable. I was picked up from the airport by Vendela Zane and slave 4. Yes, she has four full time slaves! After a quick drive to the B&B(it's conveniently located near the airport) I was treated to an absolutely delicious lasagna dinner! Vendela mentioned the lasagna was made from local ingredients. It had a great balance of flavors…and I kept asking for more.

During dinner Vendela and I caught up. We discussed-at length-our views on FemDom and I asked her what it was like to run a 24/7 household. I found Vendela to be open and honest with a, "take no bullshit" attitude. From our discussions and my experiences throughout the weekend it was clear she runs a tight ship, but does so with love. We very easily talked throughout the night. The common theme here will be running on little to no sleep, but that's to be expected with you get two fiery personalities together!

The next day slave 4 took me on a tour around Scranton. My favorite part was visiting the park to see Vendela's brick. She donated to a local charity and there's a brick with her name on it in the park. I think it's wonderful when people from the community give back. Once I returned to the B&B Vendela gave me a goodie basket of lovely treats! There was chocolate from the local chocolatier, Gertrude Hawk, "Mistress" and "Sadist" chapstick, and leather scented soap and a candle. The soap is great for sensitive skin like mine, and the scent reminds me of many devious times in the dungeon. Later on in the evening Vendela and I got a chance to do some play piercing. Since play piercing is one of my favorite activities, I was very happy to share this passion with her.

After yet another night that went by too quickly, Vendela and I did a day of shooting. I was able to meet slaves 1 and 2. In general, all of Vendela's slaves have such different personalities. It was so great to experience them serving both of us so smoothly! They are well behaved, courteous, and thoughtful. Our shooting started with an interview of me and resulted in other clips as well. Vendela's questions really made me think and I could feel the synergy between us when I answered.

What else can be said about Vendela that hasn't been said already? When my friends have asked me about how my trip was, I pause and say, "that woman is a force to be fucking reckoned with!" Make no mistake…this Alpha woman's energy is infectious and will alter you in a positive way. I feel honored to have been a guest at Vendela Zane's studio!

Last night I was talking to stompmedead at a local foot fetish party. I told him about the upcoming video I will have for sale and wanted to announce it both here and in my google group. I will write a more detailed post about my traveling tales later, but there's something that's been on my mind for some time now. It's on the topic of clients and fulfilling your pervy desires no matter what the cost. There have been a number of things I've been approached with lately that I don't think are sane. One person in particular wants to session despite the inherent health risks.

My reasons for posting this are two fold. First, I want to bring attention to various situations and the risk-especially when not playing with an ethical and health aware Dom. Second, I want to discuss the ethics of receiving and requiring a deposit.

So, I've been asked to shove many unsanitary things up men's asses, do various types of play that would cause permanent harm to genitalia, and many other things. I have to ask myself, "do they know the risks? Is it my responsibility to point out what could go wrong?" Most of the time I would say, "yes"! I have pointed out the risks of permanent harm, but have been met with, "well so and so will do it in the suburbs..." Despite being met with opposition, I still feel it's necessary to point out risky behavior. I want people to live and play another day!

What I want to bring attention to is playing while having degenerative discs. If they are in the cervical area, sneezing could be a risky activity. Why would I want to whip or flog you if jerking the wrong way could paralyze you? If you're already having excruciating pain that's not being treated in your lower back and numbness due to this, why would I want to risk causing you more harm? Playing is NOT WORTH THE RISK. I don't care when your last session was. Go to a doctor. Go to a physical therapist. Seek medical attention. If you have already, follow their instructions and be careful.

The situation I'm speaking of was where a client decided to give me a deposit for a session. I had been responding to emails every day for weeks regarding this session. We met in public and we are definitely a good match to play! I had a lot of fun during our negotiations. I received the deposit and our session time came up quickly. Unfortunately, a few days before the session the client started having tingling and numbness in his arm that wouldn't go away. He finally went to a doctor and the degenerative discs were discovered. I kept in contact with him, but didn't receive a response as to the location of the discs in question right away. I let it be known that I would not risk his safety by sessioning at this time. I mentioned I would hold onto the deposit for another month considering the time span I've held onto it already...plus the email communication I've been keeping up. Today I received a lovely email telling me how I'm not understanding and am not honest. What is dishonest about holding onto a deposit for nearly three months and keeping in constant email communication? What is dishonest and not understanding regarding caring for a client's health?

As Doms we're constantly having to draw lines with our business. Yes, this is a business. My line is drawn at playing while risking paralyzing someone. The endorphin high is not worth the rest of a life in a wheelchair.
